MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are available for macOS as well as Windows, so a Mac can host the full desktop terminal. Templates, indicator settings and window layouts are stored on the machine, so the workspace returns as it was left; that is the argument for installing rather than opening a browser each time.
The browser platform is the alternative when the Mac is a work machine, when software installation needs approval, or when the session is short. It opens from the Personal Area in Safari, holds nothing locally, and the account state comes from the server rather than from the computer.
Local time is UTC+8, which places the European open in the late afternoon and the North American open late in the evening. A Mac covers the earlier part of that comfortably; the later part usually shifts to a phone. Neither move requires anything to be exported, because the same account is behind the desktop terminal, the browser and the mobile app.
